We resurrected our old Commodore 64 game from 1990, Undead, with my friend, and are recreating the game from scratch. We have developed our own custom pixel animation editor that can export both to Unreal Engine and Commodore 64, and I am programming the game on Unreal Engine first using blueprints (yes, I can do programming now). This will then be converted to C64 by my friend.
All the screens are made with the technical limitations of Commodore 64.
